About Pedro Rodrigues
Winner of the Artist’s International Auditions (New York), the Concorso Sor (Rome) and the Prémio Jovens Músicos, as well as a laureate of over twenty competitions including Salieri-Zinetti, Paris, Montélimar, Valencia, and Sernancelhe, Pedro Rodrigues is an Associate Professor at the University of Aveiro, an Integrated Researcher at INET-md, Director of the Master’s in Music program, Artistic Director of the UA Autumn Festivals, and a member of the UA General Council. He has performed as a soloist in many internationally renowned, and has premiered over 60 works by contemporary composers. His discography includes 19 titles. He is regularly invited to teach masterclasses at universities across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.

Tango Animal: Batimento Duo from Uruguay

The National Center of Chamber Music and the Embassy of Uruguay in Armenia present the exclusive concert “Tango Animal” by the Uruguayan ensemble “Batimento Duo”.
On June 4 at 7:30 PM, at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy works by the most prominent Uruguayan and Argentine composers in the history of tango, presented in a unique and contemporary interpretation.
The concert program is mainly based on the compositions from the musicians’ latest album, “Tango Animal.”
Batimento Duo is an Uruguayan instrumental ensemble featuring Ignacio Correa and Andrés Rey. Using regional music as a foundation, they explore a variety of musical perspectives, specializing in River Plate genres such as tango, waltz, and milonga. The ensemble has performed at Uruguay’s most prestigious venues, including Solís Theatre, Sala Zitarrosa, and Sala Hugo Balzo (SODRE). The musicians have participated in international festivals, masterclasses, and concert programs in various countries around the world, from Colombia and Mexico to Japan, Spain, England, Finland, and Argentina.
